In honor of World Ocean Month, observed every June, OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels is making a splash with a wide variety of on-property activations, sponsorships and collaborations with local events focused on preserving and protecting our precious environment.

June 6:
- Coral Planting at Castaway Island, Fiji. 10a
June 7:
- Sea Turtle Nursery Pond Cleaning & Turtle Shell Scrubbing. Community sea turtle conservation activities at the Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC), which operates under the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources’ Sea Turtle Conservation Centre, Cape Panwa, Phuket. PMBC is the conservation center of sea turtles, as well as the nursery that educates the public about sea turtles. OUTRIGGER Surin Beach Resort guests, hosts and community members are invited to join this educational session about the life of sea turtles and followed by cleaning of sea turtle nursery pond and turtle shell scrubbing.
- Beach & Roadside Clean-Up at Korotogo Roundabout hosted by OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort (2:30pm)
June 8: World Ocean Day
- OUTRIGGER Kauaʻi Beach Resort & Spa and Hoʻomalu Ke Kai host the inaugural Kauaʻi Community Cleanup and Celebration of the Ocean at Nukoliʻi Beach (10am-2pm)
- Jodi Endicott’s “Speaking for Nature” Sustainable Art Display 10am – Unveiling at the OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Featuring Jennifer Lynch, PH.D & Katherine Stevens, M.S. from Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Center for Marine Debris Research (CMDR), plus Kevin O‘Brien, President, and James Morioka, Executive Director, from the Papahānaumokuākea Marine Debris Project. The same display can be seen at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort through July 31, 2024.
- Sea turtle release, beach and nursery pond cleaning conservation activity at the OUTRIGGER Khao Lak Beach Resort in Thailand. A collaboration with the Royal Forest Department at Thai Muang Beach, Phang-nga
- OUTRIGGER Mauritius Beach Resort will host Bis Lamer “Sea Bus” (9a-12p) for hosts, guests and the community to learn about Reef Conservation, marine science and environmental issues through various sensitization sessions.
- Duke’s Malama Crew Beach Clean-up at OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort
- Beach Clean-Up at OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort
- OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort Sailing Canoe team will race from Waimanalo to Kualoa. They will depart at 11am and are expected to arrive at Kualoa Beach Park between 2-3pm, joining canoes from all over the world that will participate in the Wa’a (traditional Voyaging) Festival at Kualoa Park from 10a-4p
June 9: Lamai Beach Clean-Up. OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort in Thailand, in collaboration with Trash Hero World | We clean, we educate, we change, hosts trash pick-up days weekly through June.
June 12-15: 13th Annual Festival of the Pacific Arts & Culture Performances at OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort
June 13: Beach Clean-up at Castaway Island, Fiji. 3:30pm
June 14: Ban Tan Crab Bank Releasing up to 5,000 baby crabs into the ocean. Guests and hosts at OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort in Thailand are invited to join local organization to release the crabs, part of an initiative to educate fisherman on sustainable fishing practices and increasing the crab population.
June 15: O Ke Kai Series with Friends of Hokulea and Hawai’i Loa. A cultural exchange with Youth Group from Aotearoa, New Zealand, and part of the 13th annual Festival of the Pacific Arts (FestPAC). Hands-on workshop with canoe building and wood master, Tay Perry. Workshop to include navigating compass with Hokule’a 2014 canoe captain, Keahi Omai, plus talk story with Bishop Museums Exhibit Designer & Hokule’a 2023 crew member Mike Wilson. Artist Leohone Muzno will be presenting wa`a prints to raffle, with proceeds to benefit FHH. The event includes fun activities for kids and live Hawaiian music by Kawika Kahiapo. June 15: TOMA x World Ocean Day Solo Art Show and Fundraiser for Wastewater Alternatives and Innovations (WAI) featuring print surf photography by Giancarlo Beroldo, AKA Gsea, plus live performances by TwinFin + Connor Johnson | OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel
June 20:
- Ke Kani O Ke Kai Concert at Waikiki Aquarium. A special super-sized concert featuring Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning artists Kawika Kahiapo, Bobby Moderow, Robi Kahakalau, and Makana, with additional artists and halau to be announced soon. Food vendors will include Da Spot, Local Poke Bowl, Simply Ono, and Il Gelato (6-9pm).
- Fish House Making at Castaway Island, Fiji. 3:00pm
June 22: Flow. Sip. Shop – Nalu Health Bar Free Yoga, Pop-Up Shop + Coffee & Water Event. Support Local, Eco-Friendly Brand One Om with free yoga for 30 minutes, pop-up of upcycled and sustainable yoga clothes and hemp bags with One Om. Free drip coffee by Nalu Health Bar and free filtered water by Waiea to anyone who brings a reusable cup or bottle to promote bringing your own, decreasing waste, and having good coffee and water. Waikiki Beach Walk (8-11:30am)
June 27: Under Water Clean-up at Castaway Island, Fiji. 10am

- OUTRIGGER Zone Day – Join ocean-minded organizations as we make Genki Balls for the Ala Wai Project and share educational activities on the lawn to incite action to conserve precious resources.
