Celebration Time, The Guest Room Floors Renovation is Complete
BY KATHERINE ALLEN – On Tuesday, August 27, our wonderful room attendant, Josie, cut the last caution tape “rope” to present the new room offerings. The team along with the rest of the OUTRIGGER Hosts, cheered with sparkling ciders and malasadas as OEH has officially completed all guest room floors from renovation. We now have our public spaces left, so we are just steps closer to sharing a new era for the OEH OUTRIGGER property.

OEH celebrated national trail mix day with a surprise and delight from our general manager Kiana Beimes and operations administrator Katherine Allen. Hosts were excited and overjoyed with the endless varieties of trail mix! The trail mix paired nicely with their meals for an “after-lunch” snack.

OKR Celebrates 3rd Anniversary with BBQ Extravaganza
BY VICKY AKANA – On a beautiful morning at picturesque Paʻakai Point, overlooking the stunning Keauhou Bay, OKR hosted a spectacular BBQ luncheon to celebrate its 3rd year anniversary. The event was a grand success, bringing together the resorts hosts and management team for an unforgettable day filled with fun, laughter, and, of course, scrumptious food.
The menu included grilled Huli chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, and a variety of delectable sides. The star of the show, however, was the show-stopping chocolate coffee cake, lovingly prepared by OKRʻs very own baker, Candace. As if that wasnʻt enough, guests were also treated to scoops of heavenly Kulolo ice cream, the perfect way to cool off on a warm Kona day!
The culinary mastermind behind the grill was Chef Ash, who expertly guided OKRʻs leadership team through the art of grilling, ensuring every dish was cooked to perfection. It was truly heartwarming to see management and hosts come together to prepare, serve, and entertain, demonstrating the strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie that makes OKR such a special place.
The hosts relished the opportunity to be served by their very own management team. The atmosphere was fun, with everyone in high spirits as they celebrated the achievements of OUTRIGGER Kona over the past three years.
It was clear that the event had been an overwhelming success, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Happy 3rd year anniversary, OUTRIGGER Kona! With a dedicated team and a bright future ahead, thereʻs no doubt that the resort will continue to thrive. Imua OKR!!!

A Week Filled with Celebrations
BY VICTORIA TAPICERIA – We kicked off our Quarter 3 Host Lunch and Learn with a carnival themed celebration. Mahalo to our Corporate Security team for being our guest speaker and sharing information on emergency preparedness for hurricanes and tropical storms. Our general manager, Steve Miller, highlighted years of service, host promotions, host participation in OUTRIGGER Zone Day and Duke’s OceanFest, welcomed back our Project Life partners, and shared hotel projects that have been completed in the last three months.

Mahalo to our Engineering team for your creativity in incorporating National Trail Mix Day (August 31st) for Malama our Host! The hosts enjoyed the “Build-your-own Trail Mix Bar” that included a variety chocolate treats, chips, and nuts!

A Warm Welcome to Grand Seiko & Tudor
BY JENNIFER YAMADA – We are happy to welcome our new partners Grand Seiko and Tudor to the OBC ‘Ohana. The new stores are sure to elevate the Beachcomber’s modern feel with Grand Seiko’s sleek lines and Tudor’s bold colors. While their grand opening celebrations are scheduled for a little later, both stores are now open and we look forward to sharing this exciting new offering with guests from all over the world. The OBC team, led by GM Ceci Hamao, welcomed them with lei and flowers on Friday, August 30, 2024.
“It was great to take our housekeeping hosts on a quick tour of our brand new partners: Grand Seiko and Tudor boutique stores,” said Ceci. “The world-renowned brands are elevating the look of OBC street level with their luxury, chic stores. And we also celebrated #NationalTrailMixDay!”
