‘Tis the Season for Giving

The Waikiki SPAM JAM® made a comeback this year, netting needed funds for three local nonprofits: Hawai‘i Foodbank – $40,000; Waikiki Community Center – $10,000 and Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) – $5,000.

The donations came from visitors and residents who showed their love for SPAM® by shopping, eating and frequenting places offering SPAM-alicious™ menus and entertainment. The event kicked off with special events at Waikiki Beach Walk, continuing at the International Market Place and Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.

Even though the event was modified due to some remaining pandemic considerations, many restaurants and shopping centers in Waikīkī participated after a two-year hiatus.

Our own Barbara Campbell, vice president of retail (shown above far left), is a founding member of SJ Foundation, the creator of Waikiki SPAM JAM. As official partner of the event, Outrigger Resorts & Hotels offered special discounted rates for festival attendees. We are grateful to be a part of this fun family event that helps Hawai‘i’s needy.
