Love and excitement were in the air at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. And there should have been—after all, it was Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year.
Participating in the Vow Renewal Ceremony on the beach fronting the Outrigger Reef were our very own tech man, Ivan Paik (IT) and his wife Kelly, celebrating their 20th anniversary on this big day.
Ivan wanted to do something extra special for Kelly. “Coming up with romantic ideas is not an easy task,” said Ivan. “I remembered there was this ceremony at the Reef, so I made a call; everything was taken care of. All I had to do was get Kelly there. One thing for sure we wanted to do was to spend this day with one another.”
Joining them, however, were 25 couples from the Outrigger Waikiki and the Outrigger Reef, all with the same purpose, “to fall in love all over again.”
The Outrigger Reef on the Beach was pleased to be able to provide the opportunity to rekindle the romance on this very special day.
The Royal Sea Cliff Resort held its first (to be annual) Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony this past Valentine’s Day.
Sixteen couples participated in the ocean front ceremony officiated by Kumu Keala Ching. Each couple was greeted and posed for a portrait taken by our official resort photographer, Gary Correia. Kumu Keala explained the history and meaning behind the ceremony and then spoke the vows in Hawaiian for the guests to repeat. The ceremony ended with “The Hawaiian Wedding Song,” performed by Alii Keanaaina and danced by Shiloah Watai.
All enjoyed champagne, wedding cake, and a personalized certificate, suitable for framing. The romantic evening continued for those guests, plus about 40 more, as they all made their way to the South Pool for the weekly “Sunset Monday” party.
